Räucher Lax

Got this today to celebrate two things: My iPhone being back and running plus my last written exam for A Levels!! 🤓 This is salmon made from carrots 🥕 There is a slightly fishy taste from the algae but it could be stronger for my taste! 🍣 It’s quite expensive and I’ll probably not get it again: almost 5€ for what is essentially 100g of carrots lol. It comes with lots of plastic as well 🥲 When I put it on bread with some cashew cheese my little brother asked: „Oh, you’re eating salmon again? Vegans can do that?!“ - So I guess the look can fool omnis 😎 #abillionturns3

Vegan smoked salmon made of marinated carrots. Perfect for bagels, salads and sushi. Although it doesn’t taste like real salmon I like it because of its salty taste. Moreover the ingredients are free of flavour enhancer and preservatives!

This is the first time I tried vegan smoked salmon - I know there are many recipes to do it at home, but I was intrigued when i saw this one in the store and immediately bought it (although it is pretty pricey considering it is just carrots and a spice-mixture...but the idea is great!). I was a little disappointed with the taste, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, it is fascinating that they manage to make it taste a lot (!) like smoked salmon (I mean the taste and smell really sticks to your fingers like the original fish-product) - but it had a really sour taste to it that me and my boyfriend didn't enjoy so much. Still, it is a great idea and I think, with a little work (and a little money from us buying the products) they will figure out how to make this the perfect smoked salmon alternative. Exited for the future!

Sehr guter veganer "Räucherlachs", der wirklich fast wie Fisch schmeckt. Auf Brot ist er mit veganem Frischkäse als Grundlage und als Topping veganen Kaviar + frischen Dill nicht nur ein Hingucker, sondern auch echt lecker 😋😋😋.
