Hazelnut Truffles

These are soooo close to being delicious. The problem for me is that they’re sugar free, which is great for diabetics or anyone who needs to watch their sugar intake. For someone like me who wanted a sweet fix, it didn’t quite hit the mark. Hazelnut praline is a delightful flavour and I might chop these up to add to cookie batter or something, because I feel confident I’d love them with just a bit more sweetness 🤷‍♀️

Not everyone in our house appreciated these truffels, but I was truly impressed. They are soft, creamy blocks of dark chocolate goodness that melt in your mouth in the most delightful way. They are not sweet— maybe it helps to read the #nosugaradded label and adjust one’s expectations before taking a bite. They are sweetened with just enough inulin to take the edge off the cocoa. Inulin is a fiber that’s usually chicory-derived. It’s low glycemic, acts as a prebiotic and increases calcium absorption. Smooth, chocolatey and has a nice crunch due to the hazelnuts.

These truffes are really nice, even if I prefer the ones with chocolate flakes.
