Cheddar shreds

I've used this cheese so much, but I can't remember if I've reviewed it before. Violife cheese melt so well. They were one of the early good melters! This week, we used them with Juicy Marbles steak, peppers, and onion to make a huge philly cheese steak sandwich! It melted perfectly and made everything stick together nicely in this messy, iconic sandwich. Shredded cheddar cheese. It doesn't taste much like cheese, but I like to eat it on pizza toast. I'd also like to try using it in gratin and doria. シュレッドタイプのチェダーチーズ。チーズのふうみはあまり感じませんが、ピザトーストで食べるのが好きです。グラタンやドリアにも使ってみたいです。

Hard to believe but Violife is now cheaper in Canada than in some stores in the US? I have been buying Violife since I first found it on a trip to Europe in 2014. The flavour has changed over the last few years and some of the competition like Vitalite and new Daiya are pretty fierce that makes this tough to justify $9 a bag but I’ll go for it on sale.

Got this because my usual Daiya was out of stock, and was pleasantly surprised. Violife is tasty but didn’t use to be a brand I’d reach for for daily use because a lot of their cheeses tend to have a more béchamel-y taste to them, but this one has the sharpness of the cheddar down pat! Will definitely be a staple #vegancheese in my routine now :D
