Love Handle
Singapore’s first plant-based butcher with the largest curation of meat-free proteins.
This was gooood, especially with the lime. Love the chewiness, it was just nice for me.
Hard to believe it's made of konnyaku. The texture is so similar to real squid. It's crispy & tasty, dipped into the tartar sauce for extra yum
A must-try dish which is made of konjac. Even my non-veg friend said the texture and taste resemble that of the real dish
I don’t know how to describe the calamari rings at Love Handle - omg!! 😍 How do you manage to get it to taste soo good!!! The tartare sauce was soo good too! My friend and I literally swallowed this in few seconds! The texture is so close to the “real” calamari rings - I wasn’t expecting that at all. Then again, I’m pretty new to vegan food and can’t wait to try more! If you’re to blindfold me and asked me to eat this, I would’ve totally thought it’s just real calamari ring - just that you don’t have to feel guilty eating it. 😍🙈
If you're going to compare this to, say, Nature's Charm and their abominable little product then of course this wins, but that's an incredibly low bar for #fried #calamari rings. From its tired presentation to the there-but-not-quite chewiness of the texture (thanks, #mushroom 😏), this wasn't top-pick material. #tartarsauce distinctly ordinary 😐 At least there was no actual #seafood in it. Last night I was at a family thing and they cooked me a vegetable curry. After the meal they told me that they had used tiny dried shrimp to enhance its flavour, and hoped I didn't mind because "so small only" 😒 I am actively non-militant and compromise-seeking in how I deal with these things, but that was borderline for pushing me over the edge 😪
