Banana & Chocolate Loaf Cake

One of my favourite things ever is banana cake, banana bread or banana loaf - add chocolate and it sounds like a dream! To begin with, I really enjoy this loaf cake, it tasted great, exactly what you would expect. Unfortunately, though, as I ate more of the cake, it started to taste really salty in places. I don’t know whether they purposefully added salt (it seemed to have been too much if they did) or they had an accident in the kitchen and had spilt salt. Either way, the saltiness ruined the rest of the cake. It looked good, and the sponge was moist and light, but 200degs can sometimes be a bit of the pricey side. I’m not sure exactly what this cost, I think it was quite reasonable, but as the cake’s taste wasn’t great, I wouldn’t say it was good value. However, I love seeing vegan banana cake, as it’s one of the easiest things to make vegan and I don’t understand why so many cafés choose not to. There’s plenty of vegan options at 200degs, so I’d definitely recommend checking them out if you’re looking for somewhere to lunch - hopefully the salt is a one-off experience!
