I wanted to try the eggs here since they first started making them years ago, so when I found myself stuck in the storm in Toronto and needing breakfast, I asked my friend if we could go here for breakfast. They're known for an extensive vegan menu but they're an omni restaurant.

My friend and I both chose the Thursday special, since it was $14.99 instead of $19.99. It was "Three eggs with avocado and tomato." The eggs came any way, and the scrambled option is Just Egg, which I've had many times. I was so excited to try the house-made sunny side up eggs!

As you can see, the vegan option only comes with two eggs - my friend got three on her non-vegan plate. The server had told me they ran out and I agreed to wait 15 mins extra so they could make more. Sadly, they were cold and unlike any of the reviews I had seen had described them. They looked okay at first, but once the white was broken, white watery fluid ran out over the plate. It had no flavour, but I know egg whites aren't typically flavourful. The texture threw me way off. A yolk is meant to run but not the white. I asked staff if this was what it was meant to look like and they gave a vague non-answer and offered to replace the eggs. I ended up trying to make the most of the yolk while waiting for the Just Egg scramble, but even the yolk was not great.

The rest of the breakfast was just meh. The potatoes were nice and I finished them the next day. The scrambled eggs were good and full of little veggies. The only good thing about all of this is that it filled me up for the drive home. Next time I want eggs I'll just do my usual and make the egg yolk dipping sauce from Sam Turnbull.
