Ok, these are definitely the best vegan "chicken" tenders I've had. Granted I've only ever had one other brand of vegan tenders (Gardein) and to me those tasted and felt more like tofu than chicken. The flavor of the Incogmeato ones is quite mild but still chicken-like and the texture is VERY close to that of a real tender because it actually tears more like chicken and breaks apart more like chicken, as well as being a little more chewy and having sort of a give to it if that makes sense. To me they are even more convincing than the Incogmeato Nuggets.
If I had to think of some critiques for them, I'd say that 1. As with the Morningstar Farms Nuggets, the breading could definitely be more crispy. The breading on these is soft and crumby. 2. Though the texture is definitely an improvement over Gardein, it still is a bit softer than real chicken, but I wouldn't let that reason alone stop you from buying them. 3. My final critique - the ingredient list is very long and full of chemicals so definitely not ideal but as a treat they're really not going to kill you. Unfortunately, to me, the meat itself has a sort of chemically aftertaste at first; though it dissipated as I ate them. At first I had the same aftertaste with the Morningstar Nuggets as well so if you've had those before but liked them anyway you'll probably like these too. Anyway I'm gonna go do something more productive with my life now. (haha jk)
