So you *can* actually tell the #yamcake and #carrotcake apart by their colours, this being slightly lighter than the latter. In taste too; It’s just a bit more greasy I find though I’m not sure how that works. Perhaps it’s due to it being the mushier feeling of the two that I get that impression? Honestly though, it is a bit bland and it’s the #sambal that pulls it together as a side though really I just get it to make sure I feel stuffed stuffed after the meal 🙈 Sometimes one main dish just isn’t enough!
Very tasty! Some yam cakes can be dry but these are very soft and moist. And not too salty yet very flavourful.
Ugly photi doesnt do this dish justice. It tasted so much better than it looks. Mind you, I am a big fan of carrot cake (and dont like yams in general) but i actually preferred this over their carrot cake. It was done really well without being too heavy on yams or flour. Nice balance :). Will definitely get some again if I am near the area
Very value for money, 3 sides for $4.50. Huge portion best for sharing and this was larger than the carrot cake and Yong tau foo. It is a savoury Chinese kueh similar to ones I had in the past but vegan. I didn't enjoy this so much as I'm not so much a kueh person and I ordered too much food so was struggling to finish 😅 might've had more oomph with chilli, I went for non spicy today.
