I saw great reviews of this and decided to try since I like mala and

don't eat it often. Wow!!! It was #sogood! $6.50. Second photo is before mixing. The noodles were stuck together by the time I ate it at home so added a bit of hot water to mix. This kind of noodles are perfect in mala. Pretty numbing, washed it down with soy milk, it's not for people who can't take spicy food. So much ingredients omg!!! Long beans, carrot, and cabbage for veggies. There was soy sauce tofu, lotus root, and mock meat which added flavour. The star of the dish was the seaweed with a bit of mock meat in them. There was so much seaweed and it was so crispy it was perfect for a seaweed lover like me! Most places don't give enough seaweed. Nutrition was rated lower since this is pretty oily being mala, but omg what a find! I wanna try more dishes from here, seeing so many great reviews. #veganin2020 🍜

Sunday lunch, at my usual.

I like d soupy mala, but tis shop makes me like

the dry one too.

Generous in vege, tofu, the unagi something, and today thrs an extra portion of some mock meat. Whc I usually don't like, but for some reason I like today's one.

With the generous portion of all ingredients, this dish is very value for money. ✌️

Technically, their mala is Nyonya mala, so I'm not sure how that is supposed to

taste compared to normal mala. This was also my first time trying mala, so I can't be a good judge of the dish. I liked that it was super affordable for a mala dish, and I liked that instant noodles were included. Honestly, I didn't really like the dish as a whole (I guess mala is just not for me), but I did enjoy some of the ingredients when I was not dying from the spice and numbing sensation, like the potatoes. Probably not an authentic #peranakan dish by any means, but perhaps a unique one. #vegan

Back at Vege Pot because the food I had the other time was too good

😩
Finally tried a noodle dish from them and I wasn’t disappointed! The noodles were akin to the look of instant noodles but without being soggy or oily. The mala sauce coated the springy noodles nicely and I could see peppercorns in it! It wasn’t too spicy or numbing, prob acceptable for non-spicy eaters as well. What I love about Vege Pot is the variety of vegetables they include in their dishes, the lotus root is well-seasoned and they even included their crispy ‘unagi’ (prob made from seaweed)!!

💸: $5.90

it was a really good combination of veggies but there was salted soy bean paste

added and that was weird. It was too flavourful and salty on too of mala and also flavourful sichuan veggies. it was too much for mee- i like it but i will omit bean sauce and sichuan pickled veggies next time

BYO Utensils again! They switched to one time disposables due to the COVID-19 period... apparently

it is more hygienic... putting that aside...

I love the dish. Noodles is super springy (like how?!), great amounts of veg and lotus root. Give the mala paste a good mix, and every strain of noodle fills your mouth with a good balance of savoury, spicy and slightly numbing effect.

SHIOK. A bit like eating indomie but with a mala kick. I must hand it

to them for concocting a very balanced mala sauce that’s full of flavour but somehow doesn’t burn so you can shovel the whole bowl lol (the spices taste like mala but not very spicy nor numbing). Crispy seaweed was so yummy too. Not for when you wanna eat clean

Was excited to try this when I first saw this reviewed here HAHA. It was

pretty good but tbh a bit unhealthy (like normal mala) because of the oil and saltiness (not too salty don’t worry). Worth a shot if you like mala :-)
