I had seen online that Boston Pizza was offering more vegan options so I was really initially excited to go here, but clearly not all vegan options are available at all locations. What they did offer was a bit disappointing — as though someone from head office said “we need to offer more vegan food” but didn’t care about the taste or quality of the dishes. This bowl is basically something I could throw together at home. It has a “black bean and brown rice patty” (their regular dry veggie patty just cut up), quinoa, rice, spinach, cherry tomatoes, guacamole (a weird pre-made type that didn’t taste fresh at all), beets, carrots, roasted red peppers, and cucumbers. There wasn’t really any sauce or flavour on this. Although this was healthy and a big portion size, it was quite disappointing. With big chains now offering really tasty plant-based menus, BP just falls short.
