This is my favourite dish at Life Cafe now 😋 It was also the first I ever had many moons ago when @m1tch9i first took me to their Brighton Square outlet https://www.abillion.com/dishes/life-cafe-brighton-square-pork-free-restaurant-veg-ginseng-chicken-soup-10325157 🌝 Since then, I’ve grown more fond of this #soup 😊 My praise for its balance of #ginger and #ginseng remains the same. Such a perfect balance of #savoury and warm 🌞 I’ve also grown even more fond of the #veganchicken they use cause as much as I’m fond of their #friedchicken, the simply pleasure of how some #fakemeat just melt in your mouth is what drew me to them as a kid 🐐 No word on if this is #soybased or some mix of #seitan but it’s plenty soft ⛅️ Just make sure to order a serving or plain rice or noodles alongside if you’re hoping for more than #vegansoup 😉
Chinese-style #chickensoup given herby overtones, thanks #ginseng 😏 What was remarkable was how little there was of anything else apart from the #fakemeat chicken, some wolfberries, and the roots of the ginseng. My mum is now even more confused about where I get my greens from 🙃 Oh yeah, you don't get any carbs with this, so you do need to add on like a white rice or something
I still remember being sick the week I had this 🤒 which is exactly why I ordered it. It’s interesting that most of their dishes offer a side of rice but not this one 🤔 though the portion might be why. This was just the warm #comfortfood I needed to ease my ailment. It’s got #chineseherbs aplenty 😙 also #ginseng and #gojiberry galore! Among #medicinalfoods that have comforted #chinese folk for thousands of years with the deep soothing #broth 😋 It may be considered almost under-salted but not for me! The #mockmeat appears to be #mockmutton according to @dafnelately 🤓 a helpful note to know it’s #vegan 🙌 I recall this was about RM21 because I thought it was quite expensive. However, it’s a worthy serving size to share for 2 or 3 👍 I’ve ordered it again since 😌 and will do so again in the future 😉 #healthiswealth
First meal in Kuching 😋 Got this a day ago after I landed with the lovely @m1tch9i 💗 “Well seasoned”’s the word as she would describe it. It’s an ample level of salty that both carries and pacifies the otherwise intense flavours of ginger and ginseng 🌿 Like any herbal soup, you’d find goji berry and Chinese dates present but not in any amount I’d hope for; I’m greedy with my sweets 🤭 The #fakemeat was great too! Chances are it’s the lamb or chicken bits by Everbest based on the texture but neither of us pried into too many details 😇
