#vegan #veganisnotscary #smallbusiness #supportsmallbusiness #tofu #tofulover #veganbruschetta #tofubruschetta I noticed several reviews on abillion have already been done for this restaurant, Nonie’s Restaurant, so I wanted to go there. Coincidentally, it just happens to be across the street from where I’m staying. With a sign outside that advertises it offers vegan food, I will automatically give it a try. And I’m glad I did. I started my lunch with Tofu Bruschetta. The description on the menu sounded very interesting and different, although I must not have read it well because it took me a little while to realize that the tofu was the base (the bread substitute). What a beautiful presentation! The cook / chef took great care in its presentation. Everything was so fresh. This bruschetta is a Filipino twist on a classic Italian offering. A vegan spicy Korean sauce accompanied the bruschetta which elevated the flavour (not that the tofu bruschetta lacked flavour). I highly recommend it. The Tofu Bruschetta was 260 pesos, or about $6.50 Canadian. Boracay is more expensive than other Philippine islands and the price of this smoothie is consistent with that trend. This restaurant is not 100% vegan, but vegans have plenty of options. Surprisingly, tofu is not popular here in the Philippines as a meat substitute.
