When we saw that this weekend’s flavors included Dunkaroos AND Iced Pumpkin Loaf, we bent
over backwards to make sure we could fit in a trip to Sugar Spell and it didn’t disappoint.
The Dunkaroos had Halloween sprinkles in it, combining a favorite childhood lunchbox snack AND the world’s best holiday into one fresh-flavored scoop. That alone would have been enough to satiate my ice cream craving, but I had to go and be super indulgent by also ordering the Iced Pumpkin Loaf.
I guess because as soon as I see the word “Pumpkin,” I immediately think of pumpkin pie or PSL, but DANG - I initially forgot that this was pumpkin LOAF and was surprised to find that it actually did taste like a pumpkin roll! What a pleasant departure from the ubiquitous pumpkin pie ice cream that every basic parlor adds to the fall line up. And not only did the base have a rich loaf-y taste, but there were ribbons of glaze swirled throughout. It was PERFECT and so creamy!
Our non-veg friend was with us and she couldn’t believe her 3x Chocolate scoop was dairy-free. I think she was sold. :)
