🍲 South East Asian cuisine has a lot of spices & one of the most popular spice mix is Sambal 🍲 Sambal is a Javanes word used for an Indonesian chili sauce or paste traditionally made from a mixture of chili peppers & other ingredients such as shrimp paste, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar, and lime juice. 🍲 Then there are Malay & Nonya versions. And now vegan versions which is just chillie with ginger and sugar. 🍲 Dishes cooked with sambal are spicy, sweet and savoury, so the flavour has great texture. 🍲 Okra or Lady's Fingers itself is rather bland and slimy, but its porous nature is great for soaking up the sambal gravy and oozing flavor with every bite 🍲 Love this with a hot bowl of plain porridge or rice 🍲 Will order again! 🍲 S$5.80 💖 #firstdishreview #localfood #supportsg #supportlocal #supportlocalbusiness #asianfood #okra #sambal #spicy #ladysfinger
