There’s a bunch of egg dishes on the menu, so I was relieved to see one vegan #breakfast/#brunch option at this bustling local cafe. These #overnightoats, while delicious, were very much a case of #stillhungry. As someone who routinely DIYs something similar for lazy and cheap breakfasts, I was slightly taken aback when I saw how small the serving was. I had to remind myself to really savor it; if I had been eating at my normally brisk speed, it probably would have disappeared in a half-dozen bites or maybe around 2 minutes.
The #oats themselves were tender and flavorful, and the granola was sweet-but-not-too-sweet and #crunchy. It was spiced with #cinnamon and maybe something else — I almost got a cardamom vibe? — and sweetened with #maplesyrup. It had golden raisins, as well as almonds and pecans(?) — nut allergy folks, beware.
Again, this was nice, just too unsubstantial for me to justify the $7 price tag. Even increasing the amount by, say, 20% would go a long way toward improving my satisfaction. I hope they’ll consider adding more vegan options to the menu, too! Totally unrelated, but one interesting thing about this cafe is that they’re connected to a small movie theater and microcinema, so the whole place smells like buttered popcorn. #supportlocal
