North Star Burger

(Update 4-24-24) I have not had this burger in probably 4-5 years. I really approve of the little tweaks and changes. This was my first time at the Westerville location as well. Each location has a slightly different menu, I believe the Westerville and Easton locations have the same. Each restaurant has a different vibe from casual, cozy, modern to more fancy. On #earthday, they offer a free vegetarian or #vegan Northstar Burger for dine in. Their sister restaurant Brassica also offers a free vegetarian or vegan falafel sandwich on Earth Day. 🌎 This burger is now really purple with the addition of more beets, and I love the texture change. It used to be very gritty and beany, but now it's more meaty with creamier texture. I always remember it being very dry. They make this patty out of lentils and beats, which give it a beautiful red purple color. It's then topped with kale, pickles, tomato, onion, and lots of mustard. The bread is also very dense and it's brushed with EVOO. I subbed fries for the salad, which is also good whenever I’ve had it. The bread (a sort of like focaccia??) was a little too salty and greasy. I think I might prefer it on a little more of a traditional bun. One of my favorite veggie burgers. Great texture and toppings.

This burger is made organic black beans, brown rice and beets. It is normally topped with white cheddar, however that can be removed to make this burger vegan. It is also topped kale, tomato, pickle and onion. This is served on a toasted flatbread that has mustard on it. There is a Smokey flavor to the burger itself. This os a two handed burger to eat. If you put it down, chances are you’ll have to use a fork and knife to eat the rest as a deconstructed dish. Overall, great flavor and satisfying. It is $16 with a side of a simple salad which I will review later. I would have this again.
