SO good! This wasn’t my order, but both of the entrees we chose were so
delicious that we ended up trading our bowls back and forth. #veganrestaurant This dish is described on the menu as “finger lickin' local oyster mushrooms, mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, [and] chives.” The #mushroom was fried to #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease perfection— the batter was fantastically crispy and more #crunchy than any I’ve ever experienced before, and it made the most satisfying crackling sound as I cut into it. It sat atop a bed of creamy, pillowy mashed potatoes. The umami-rich #mushroomlover gravy really tied the whole dish together — it was packed with an impossibly generous helping of mushrooms! — and the purple coleslaw contributed freshness and color.
It was $21 and so worth it; the portions were massive. Even shared between two people, I had enough left over for a light dinner the next evening. I’m so glad I got to try Modern Love — this is incredible, next-level (omni-approved) vegan comfort food that’s not to be missed if you’re visiting #omaha!
