I had initially planned to order the Classic Mac & Shews (served with fried tofu
cutlets and kale,) but our awesome server informed me of two other options on their not-so-secret #secretmenu. The #macandcheese can also be served with #buffalo seitan or #cauliflower wings; the latter keeps it #glutenfree (and selecting either variation reduces the price by $2!) They recommended the cauliflower, and it was spot-on. I’m not even a big fan of buffalo sauce normally, but there I was, basically inhaling this dish.
Modern Love knows how to fry! — the cauliflower was amazingly #crispy, no pretending to be healthy here! The mildly spicy, tangy buffalo flavor balanced the rich, creamy cheddar mac sauce beautifully; the bowl was also dressed up with vegan ranch dressing and cracked black pepper. My omni dining companion was awed by the smooth, silky consistency of the cheeze, and neither of us could tell that it was #cashew-based! #ditchdairy We were also very impressed with the texture of the gluten-free brown rice pasta, which was just as chewy and springy as conventional wheat noodles. This $17 dish was such a winner, and if I weren’t 1500+ miles away, I’d be having it again tonight. #omaha
