(Please note that while I had this at the Black Cat, it was during the period when Devil’s Kitchen took over the place. The dish and menu were therefore by the Devil). This was beautiful. The highlight for me was the Sikil P’ak, a Mayan dish and my first time trying. Being keen to learn about plants and cultures, so I enjoyed it on multiple levels. I also love the habanero jam and the pea and coriander dip, all of it really. Served with vg quesadilla, grated carrots and a side salad. All round amazing dish, and indeed a neat concept, this collaboration! I think Devil’s Kitchen doesn’t have a permanent place, and they instead do takeovers of other kitchens, markets maybe?. They explained to me that while they’re primarily vegan-friendly, it might also vary with who they’re partnering with. If you’re after their food and are keen to know where they’ll be, they said it was best to follow them on instagram: devilskitchen666. (If you don’t have instagram, there might be other ways to find their info and updates. ) #mexican #quesadilla #sikilpak #mayan #maize #grilledcorn
