steak sandwich

I almost always get the American Panini at our Columbus Loving Hut, because it’s just

that good, but needed to try this steak sandwich, which is a newer menu item and it was really good! It was loaded with #vegansteak, sautéed mushrooms, onions, red and green peppers, #veganmayo and #vegancheese! Tasty and loaded for $12, which is a good price. For some reason the bun seemed more dense and bready vs toasted and lighter, as I expected and prefer, but still a really good sandwich!
This family-owned restaurant always has great service and has been a staple in Columbus for 10 years now! They’ve always been super-kind and generous w donations in supporting the Sunrise Sanctuary over the years and though other vegan restaurants are closer, I always enjoy going here and supporting the fam. Technically, the menu name is "Grilled Steak Sandwhich," but I didn't want to add another item when it's the same as these two already reviewed.

Greg got this sandwich last week, so I wanted to go back and try it. I was totally envious as I didn't care for the curry I ordered. I love the dehydrated TVP faux meat they use. (The Temple uses it as well, and you can purchase it there) It's absolutely delicious! The Tvp is marinated in a semi sweet sauce with mushrooms for this sandwich. It's then topped with onion, bell pepper, #dairyfree cheeze, #vegan mayo, and lettuce on a hoagie bun! It's also only $12. It was $10, but with covid, everything is more expensive. It's a big portion and a good value. I loved all the flavors especially the fresh bell peppers. I would probably order it without the mayo next time, I've never been a fan of the traditional condiments. Especially mustard.🤭
