Commonly called as Thunder Rice (direct translation from 雷茶, actually it’s the description of how

the tea is grinded and cooked to form the “soup”). This humble dish is originated from the Hakka and many versions of this can be found in various hawker centre and food court.
Some tofu with various greens and garnished with pan-fried radish to give the tantalising salty bit with every spoonful.
Depending on preference, some like the tea poured onto the rice but I prefer it as a soup.
Price at the stall is high especially with brown rice. The normal order is with plain white rice.
