Noodles were springy and it's nice to have a non-porky side soup with spring onions. Char siew was caramelly. Overall it was just so-so with the chilli base that wasn't very good #sgvegan
Remembered bookmarking Kang Su and noting that the restaurant was at Far East Shopping Centre, then being a little confused today when I pulled up the bookmark and saw the address at Far East Plaza. 😁 Happy I finally got to try Kang Su! I liked these noodles, it was all stuff I liked. Only comment is that the soup was a bit bland?
I would say this is more of a #sinful meal to have once in a while. It tastes pretty good to me, but it is kind of oily, although not surfeiting, and the lack of vegetables besides lettuce pieces does not really help. The dish comes with fried beancurd skin (or #vegetarianmockgoose), #mockcharsiew and #mockmincedmeat. However, having had a non-vegetarian version of kolo mee once (the kind that this dish is intended to mimic specifically with char siew), I actually liked this more even though this is #vegan, because the non-vegetarian version was really too much for me in terms of the surfeiting feeling.
Springy KOLO Mee noodles, but the black sauce ain’t enough. Generous ingredients like mock char siew, mock minced meat, fried bean curd sheet and vegetables.
