My mom ordered this dish but of course I tried it as it is featured

on JINYA’s new plant based menu!! It was soooo delicious! The chickpeas are coated and crispy and the curry ranch is to die for! Great and creative flavors!

I thought it would be dry but honestly it was perfect. Lots of variety, the

sauce is fantastic, has Impossible Meat and chickpeas for a great source of protein. It’s about $14 but the bowl is massive and could be two meals.

this was the impossible rice bowl. it. was. SO. GOOD. the curry sauce made everything

so much better. and the chickpeas are amazing. the pickled onions were a nice touch as well!

So, apparently JINYA hails from (Southern) California, but it took me moving to Nebraska to

try it for the first time. I was genuinely impressed by the number of options on their #veganmenu — 3 different preset ramen bowls, a handful of appetizers, and of course, this #veganbowl featuring #impossibleburger #fakemeat. I kept going back and forth between noodles and #rice, but I wasn’t super hungry that day, so the small-sized #bowl ended up winning the day.

According to the menu, this dish provides “Impossible meat made from plants, crispy chickpeas, kale, pickled red cabbage, crispy garlic, roasted pine nuts over steamed rice with vegan curry ranch dressing.” The white rice may be substituted for quinoa and beans for a small additional charge. I don’t think I saw any of the crispy garlic or roasted pine nuts, but the #crunchy #chickpeas were a nice textural addition. The seasoned Impossible mince was a tad on the salty side, but when thoroughly mixed in with the rice and other ingredients, the flavors balanced out. I was pretty intrigued by the golden-hued “curry ranch dressing.” It didn’t scream “ranch” to me, but it was plenty #creamy, with a mild hint of Japanese curry spice. The small bowl was $11.80 and would have been plenty for me, even if I had been more hungry.

Our server was attentive and beyond helpful. After I ordered this vegan item, he made a point of informing me that all of the condiments on the table (I think they were dumpling sauce, some sort of seasoning oil, and chili sauce) were also vegan. I’m sure I’ll be back; the food was pretty good and the breadth of vegan options made me feel like a valued customer, not just an inconvenient afterthought!
