Honestly, I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Even as a

#noodlelover 😅 I was skeptical because well… #soba isn’t the most QQ and is often served as #coldnoodles 🤨

Upon it being served, I was judgementally put off by the overwhelming invasion of fresh garnishes. Raw #tomatoes , #cabbage , #cucumber , and julienne #carrots were not something I would immediately welcome in a #noodle dish 😮 Nevertheless, the #sesame #dressing with the #noodles was a revelation! 🤩 A mostly sweet flavour with sesame and some hidden #umami here and there. The sweet #masakmerah #chickpeas had that tomatoey mush that worked surprisingly well within the sauce. Easily, the best part was the crispy #tempeh chips 😝 It brought that saltiness I know and love BUT more importantly, that added texture of crunch was just *chef’s kiss* 😚🤌

RM 13.90 is still a lot for a bowl of #sobanoodles but much to its credit, the dish is rather unique to Sarawak 🫶

This place is certainly worth stopping for if you’re ever in Kuching 😜

Got the #veganized version without the onsen egg 👀 For a café that talks this

much about vegan food, you’d really think that’d be the default! #droptheegg 🤬 That said, this was a solid meal. The buckwheat noodles were great, a nice cold temperature to contrast the warm #masakmerah chickpeas and crunch bitey #tempeh chips 🍄 Other than that, you get a side of grated carrots 🥕, matchstick cucumbers 🥒, and cabbage 🥬 with a chilli vinaigrette and a roasted sesame dressing - neither of them too impressive though. Really the #chickpeas brought the whole thing together 🍜 Would recommend it on a sunny day, really cooling sorta food 💁‍♀️
