A visit to one of the vegan restaurant franchises called The Loving Hut, based in Gangnam, allowed me the wonderful opportunity to interview one of women running this cruelty free, vegan business. Starting in August of 2010 and operating for over 9 years, it is one of the only vegan restaurant businesses to be operating for that length of time. The main focus and purpose of opening their business was to promote veganism. At the time of opening, veganism was not a widely recognized concept in Korea. Even today, it is still not a commonly known way of life, so you can imagine how truly unknown it was nine years ago. As there were people who were seeking cruelty-free food, they sought to satisfy these people's needs. Offering a wide variety of food from western style burgers, fries and pizza to traditional Korean cuisine, veganized of course, the food is really good and affordable. Desserts, coffee, tofu soup, and REALLY DELICIOUS crispy, soy 'chicken wings' that are basted in a sweet and sour sauce, there are so many other options for you to choose from, all without worrying about the ingredients. In addition to the meals, the space is divided between a restaurant and a grocery store that offers you a variety of snacks and various items for you to take home and make a good home-cooked meal. #VeganRestaurant #Competition #VeganInKorea #KoreanVegan #KoreanVeganRestaurant #CrueltyFree #LovingHut #ShaunTheVegan #VeganCompetition #SouthKoreaVegan #LovingHutCafe #Gangnam #Veganuary #VeganFoodSpots #LovingHutCafe #Greyton #Ashers
