Forgive me; I was caught in a downpour while carrying my box of freshly made

#donuts, and in rushing for cover they all got a bit banged up. This one undoubtedly sustained most of the damage, as it was upside-down and lost a sizable patch of glaze. Looks aside, it was still totally delicious! The #teamdarkchocolate coating was simultaneously fruity and rich, and the cacao nibs provided the expected crunch while counterbalancing the sweetness with their bitter and earthy flavors.
All of the donuts are made with a dough of pounded and fermented taro, which is fried in coconut oil after an order is placed for maximum freshness. They do have a slight coconut oil taste/smell, which took me a minute to adjust to. Note that this charming food truck is nearly vegan: they use exclusively #ditchdairy nut milks in their beverages, but some of the donuts contain honey. The flavors change weekly, so there’s always something new to sample — this week, they’re selling a lilikoi (passionfruit) donut that looks phenomenal!

Amazingly crisp and served hot off the fryer with Aloha from a food truck off

of Hawaii’s luxury district. The cacao nibs on top take it to the next level with the crispness. Just the right size for a treat.
