This was my favourite bao I tried on Gongfu’s full vegan menu (available every Wednesday).
I will say nothing tops the braised tofu “belly” bao that’s a mainstay on their everyday menu, but this was incredibly enjoyable. I liked the texture of the TVP chunks and the chilli garlic flavour delightful. The squash complements it perfectly and the cucumber adds a lovely crunch.
All in all, I’m so happy I got to try the expanded vegan menu because Gongfu Bao never misses. I can’t wait to go on a Wednesday in the future to see what new creations they’ve come up with.
