I was nervous to try this dish not having ever eaten a croque monsieur or any other type of meaty sandwich in my life. This is one of the most famous Portuguese meals (staple of Porto) but it’s creation was by a man returning from a spell in France/Belgium in the 1950s wanting to recreate the French ‘delicacy’ for a Portuguese palate. It is basically ‘drunk food’ - a meat sandwich, wrapped in cheese, and doused in tomato soup. I was in Lisboa - I had to try it and it did not disappoint! But definitely stands apart from the other higher end items on this menu 🤣

Riproposizione in chiave vegana di un tipico piatto portoghese. Il piatto è costituito da tre strati di pane ripieno di "salume" e "formaggio" affogato nella salsa di pomodoro. Il piatto è molto saporito e sostanzioso (forse un po troppo) Viene servito con delle ottime patatine

Después de 1 año viviendo en Portugal he podido probar la famosa francesinha. Está rica pero las expectativas eran demasiado altas y no deja de ser un sandwich. El resto de la comida en el restaurante muy rica y las camareras un encanto. Que tuviesen adaptaciones de diferentes platos típicos portugueses me parece una maravilla. 💚 Lo peor es que es muy pequeño y había mucha gente, me agobió un poco. De precio me parece un poco caro. En cualquier caso lo recomiendo.

Piatto tipico portoghese rivisitato, composto da tre strati di pane con “salume” portoghese molto saporito e “formaggio”, il tutto con salsa di pomodoro. In generale piatto ottimo forse un po’ pesante. Se si è molto molto affamati piatto perfetto perché caldo e riempie molto! Accompagnato da patatine ottime
