so interesting, but really delicious. I really enjoyed them. The flavor is almost hard to describe as it was something totally new for me. The empanadas were filled with aromatic shredded jackfruit mimicking Cuban style beef. It was very tangy but had a touch of sweetness with a smokey aftertaste. I usually am not a huge jackfruit fan, but it worked in this. The texture was great, really mimicking faux meat. The delicious soft dough on this empanada was simpler than some of the others with pretty colors, and it was made with chia seeds. All of their doughs and fillings are made with healthy natural ingredients. They're really big on using minimally processed and #organic ingredients, too, with the exception of one empanada that has #beyondmeat These were $4.25 per empanada. They're definitely a bit larger in person than what it looks like in my photos. They've made them bigger in size over the years, another plus!
