A new favourite restaurant for our family.
Nabati is an Arabic adjective that means

made-of-plants or plant-based.
This small, all-vegan Kensington restaurant, Eat Nabati, has food born of the markets and street food from a variety of countries in the Middle East.
At least one of the three co-owners is a woman.
How the menu works is, you choose your base: pita, rice and lentils, or fries. Then, you choose your filling: Egyptian falafel 🧆 , vegan-chicken or vegan-beef shawarma, Za’atar Cauliflower, Cairo Kofta vegan meatballs, Egyptian Eggplant 🍆, Alexandria’s Shrooms, or Teta’s Halloumi. Finally, you choose your spice level, meaning either Mild Tahini or Harissa Tahini (spicy).
This dish that my son had was Mama (chicken) Shawarma Plate. It has strips of vegan chicken, which is chewy and full of authentic, middle-eastern flavours. He chose to have fries as his base, which were cooked perfectly. The vegan-chicken shawarma was served on top of the fries, with “fixins” on the side, which was a harissa tahini hummus and a fresh salad of lettuce, tomato, onion and assorted pickled vegetables.
So yummy!
Great price!
Very nice people! (Look how they decorated the take-out bag!)🥰
Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely LOVED this meal. Got the bowl with fries which were well seasoned. The

tahini and hummus were so tasty and the texture and seasoning of the “chickn” used was top notch. Going to be my go-to Egyptian/Middle Eastern spot going forward.
