Seeing a lot more truffle pop into Asian dishes lately! These are delicious 😋 just

be sure not to rush and forget and dip them in soy sauce or vinegar because it’ll totally throw off the aroma of the truffle. These come in buns and dumplings but I like the buns more!

This was so yummy loved the mushrooms! Preferred this to the bigger buns as the

thin skin here enabled me to taste the mushrooms better. Truffle taste was just nice, not too overpowering.

They need this in every outlet permanently.
I love mushrooms so this made for a good

second option over the usual veggie dumplings I have.
Super hot and steamy, feels like it holds steam more than the veggie dumplings, but I do love it still.
I can taste the truffle oil and I greatly enjoyed this one
#dumplings

The menu labelled this as mushroom Xiao Long Bao but it turned out to be

#fakenews because there was no soupy broth which is the defining feature of an xlb. The truffle oil was nice but I felt that it was not enough to make up for the lack of flavours. You can't just put truffle on things and expect it to be some kind of flavour panacea or something. Ironically after eating this I'm really craving for some actual xiao long bao oppsy 😬

Loved the way the truffle oil mixed with the soy sauce I dipped it in,

somehow it worked

All Din Tai Fung outlets in Singapore have only one Vegetarian dumplings and these mushroom

dumplings are another veg*n option available only in their Paragon outlet. A welcome change from their vegetarian dumplings I have eaten countless times in the past years. The dumplings were all mushrooms, made with a mix of shimeiji, shiitake, king oyster, and golden spring mushrooms all tossed in some truffle oil. I am not a big fan of truffle oil as it mostly feels synthetic but I liked that these dumplings were not overpowered by the oil’s taste. I loved the skin which was much thinner than their vegetarian dumplings skin.

Thought they'd managed to veganise the pork broth in their XLBs but these turned out

to be regular dumplings with "dry" mushroom stuffing. Not sure why they call them XLBs if there's no broth in them 🤔 and much of the truffle flavour was lost after I dunked them in vinegar and ginger sauce (which is a good way of masking the truffle if you're not a fan)

I was really excited when I first saw this arrive on the table because it’s

been so long since I had a xiao long bao and was expecting that juicy soup but was surprised to find none! The inside was still delicious but was still a little disappointed since it was missing a fundamental essence of xiao long bao

The buns are so good, but everything truffle here is pricey. It’s nice once in

a while but I wouldn’t order it every time. I prefer their veggie buns!
