#charkwayteow 😋 I asked @dafnelately for a recommendation and she did not disappoint 😘

Just gimme that #wokhei babbyyy 🔥 This #kuehteow is charred to perfection 👌 Some without my foochow-strength taste buds may call it burnt but not me 🤪 The noodle is so wonderfully soft with just the right amount of bounce. It’s a little heavier on the salt. However, it makes sense with the strong char flavour. Let’s not forget the sweet support of cabbage and carrots there 😚 Plus, there’s a good amount of #mushroom too. I can’t remember but usually I ask for no bean sprouts so that’s why this one doesn’t have any.

This solid serving came at the awkward but decent price of RM5.80 😝

Absolutely amazing… 🤤 I can’t not visit this place if I have the chance.

Re-plated and kept this in the fridge yesterday so I had to revive this to

have for lunch today; It came out pretty good but it may seem a little blocky or flaky because of that 😅 Their medium portions for how much they charge is on the smaller side, but I think following the pounds I’ve put on from the holidays I’ll give them some slack 🤰The #kuehteow #kuayteow #kuaytiao… 🤨 is otherwise really good and has a healthy balance of carbs to “stuff” unlike their maggi goreng 🍜 Good #fakemeat in there too for those #meatlessmonday folk that haven’t decided to adopt the correct lifestyle just yet 😛 #veganuary

for one thing and one thing only - it's located on the way to the Penang airport, so I tend to stop by either on the way in or on the way out, depending on timings and my other plans. On this occasion I had a 10.30 departure, which made this a solid choice for breakfast. Alas, despite their stated opening time of 8.30 the shutters were still down at 8.50 😒 When I walked in I was told that only the beehoon was good to go. I told them I was happy to wait a bit and they agreed to do me this #charkueyteow. Not worth the wait imo 😩 Not enough char, not enough variety of condiments (#cabbage, anyone? 😏), not enough fun. At least it was cheap - this plus a drink was somewhere in the RM9 range
