
Yep, not one but two naughty #deepfried #starters ☺️ Because life is short and #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease 🤤 This was a more classic plate of #yam balls, with various diced vegetables inside as the filling. The skin was atrociously #crispy although I felt that the inside could've been more flavourful. Served with the dark, viscous #sweetsauce that is ubiquitous at such #dimsum places, as well as the #chillipaste that I tend to associate with Hainanese chicken rice. It didn't work at all, these need sweet chilli sauce or straight-up chilli oil, if you're going in that direction 😬
Hands down a BETTER + TASTIER option of dimsum staple than its meat-laden counterpart - no denying that! In fact, I never really ate the traditional one when I wasn't vegan few years ago; yet I find myself enjoying it more now that I'm vegan 芋角 ( Canto. Wugok 🤣 )
