#vegan #veganisnotscary #delightchocolate #raspberry #raspberrylover #dairyfree #ditchdairy #supportlocalbusiness #supportsmallbusiness #supportsmalllocalbusinesses #fairtradechocolate #handmadewithlove I’d like to give vegan / dairy-free chocolate as Christmas gifts this year, so I went to Delight Chocolate to get a few samples (not free samples). Delight Chocolate is a small husband-wife run bakery in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood. Today was my first visit there after checking out their offerings on their website. They sell both vegan and non-vegan chocolates. I was thoroughly impressed with this bakery and the couple behind it after reading their website. According to the bakery’s website, “Each chocolate is handmade by husband and wife team Jeff and Jennifer in their shop in the Junction with the highest quality ingredients focusing on local and sustainable. The cocoa is sourced exclusively from Certified Organic Fair Trade farms in South and Central America. The final touch is a is hand decorated design.” “At Delight our passion for making great quality Chocolate and Ice Cream Products is parallel in our belief that the only way to do so is to use the most ethical and organic ingredients possible. Fairtrade Local & Sustainable Environmentally Friendly Packaging Social Responsibility” Their environmental and social commitment very much appeals to me. The first of the four treats I purchased to be reviewed is Dairy Free Raspberry Chocolate. The small chocolate was $2.75, but absolutely delicious!! The raspberry jam inside was so rich and the chocolate had a premium taste. You can tell so much love went into this chocolate treat. Apparently, the fruit in their products is sourced from various farms in Ontario. As I had written earlier, this chocolate was $2.75. It might be a bit steep, but considering it’s a very small operation with low volume, but with a very big social conscience, I certainly didn’t mind. Even their packaging is plant-based. Companies like this need to survive and thrive, so I will definitely be buying my Christmas chocolates from them. I just have to figure out what my order will look like.
