Crispy Beancurd Skin with Sesame Rice Bento Set

I just realised this may be my first official 5 star review 🤩 It wasn’t one of my prime foodgasm moments that was life changing 😮 Simply looking at the criteria, I can’t find anything wrong! (and it was delicious, duh 😏) The #chickenrice is one of the most important components to me here 🤓 which is why I was very pleased with this one being just aromatic and starchy enough 😛 It wasn’t exactly oily but it had that whisper of grease I was looking for! The #mockchicken was a #beancurdskin work of art 😋 It was soft overall with a slight crisp on the outside 🤤 The soy sauce infused #tofu was a welcomed addition of protein and deliciousness; as was the blanched #broccoli 🥦 Across the board of flavours, it was pulled together with a refreshing hit of sweet and spicy pickled cucumber and carrot 🤪 This #bento being $9.90 was the final star that made this 10s ACROSS THE BOARD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (well, 5s but you get it) Naturally, it’s gotta be one of my #bestpicks 😉

Team lunch 🎉 Team lunch!! 😤 Today’s company sponsored meal is a #bento set with #crispy beancurd skin, a serving of #achar, vegetables 🥦, and some braised #tofu 🫘 The star of the show here of course is the #beancurdskin 🌟 that sits atop their fragrant plating of sesame rice 🍚 I topped the #beancurd with their ginger chilli sauce, the kind you’d usually get with chicken rice, and it really made the whole dish come together so wonderfully 😋 It had a nice pull and crunch on the edges but a deep bite when you’d bite into them; Not at all soggy in spite of it sitting on that steaming sesame rice! The rice was an another nice touch though; It had that Hainan chicken rice flavour that just screams #omnivoreapproved 😙 My non-vegan colleague seemed impressed with what you can accomplish without murder 🫢 My words of course.. but you get the sentiment 😏 #veganisnotscary Everything about this dish was great, all for S$9.90, minus the #deathbyplastic containers the sauce came in. I’m pretty sure as a society we’ve come around to inventing trays for these already, right? 🙄 #candobetter
