What’s so exciting about carrot cake, you might be wondering? It’s a classic, after all.
But when you find a classic that’s done really well, it’s always worth a share.
And this carrot cake was delicious: perfect texture, full of flavour, and not too sweet - although with a sweet slab of icing on top. Also, notably, the portion sizes in Cowan & Sons are big: we ordered two cake slices and ended up sharing one and bringing the second slice home.
While not a vegan/vegetarian café, Cowan & Sons usually has a few vegan options in their selection of cakes, and they’re always tasty.
