We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good. Nowadays, people can spend so much time on what’s “healthy” they don’t stop to consider what’s healthy. As far as we’re concerned, happiness is healthiness. What could be happier than that magic combination of milk, cream, eggs, and cane sugar (or coconuts, cashews and oats for our vegan friends)? Yes, our ice cream has fat. And that’s okay. It’s good-good, not good-bad. Good is choice ingredients. Even if we have to go to Mount Etna to get them. Good is simple ingredients. If it’s tough to pronounce, it’s probably tough to digest. Good is harmonious ingredients. We seek to satisfy omnivores and vegans alike. This is our way. The good way. The Van Leeuwen way. Not just the best way to make ice cream, but to live.

3rd time getting an icecream cone on a hot summer night from Van Leeuwens! First icecream flavor I got was white mint chocolate chip which was exactly what I remember Breyers mint chocolate chip tasting like when I wasn't vegan, 2nd time I went I got a strawberry shortcake on a sugar cone it was decent and last night I got this one! Very yummy, not too sweet just the right amount of goodness ☺️🍦#veganicecream #vegansummer also...Van Leeuwen is a icecream spot that seems to be 70% non vegan but the vegan options change regularly and they always have at least 5-6 vegan ice cream flavors, with bowl or cone option and all their toppings are vegan!! (Sugar cone is the only cone I believe that is vegan on their cone list)
