This burger is simply amazing! Two whole breaded portobello mushrooms serve with Nashville hot sauce.

Crispy on the outside; hot, juicy and tender on the inside. Each burger comes with great amount of fries, a pickle, a slice of tomato and lettuce. This burger would be the reason I return to Black Tap.

Such humongous portion. Look at that serving! Luckily I shared it with a friend lol.

The mushroom patties (2 of them) taste good. Crispy and a little spicy.

The waitress was very kind to ask about allergies. I wanted to try their onion rings (ala carte) and she shared that the oil used to fry the onion rings is the same as those used to fry the chicken drumlets/wings. And I dropped the order.

Hot damn!!!! 😋😋😋😋😋 I have been searching for 6 years for an absolutely delicious sandwich

in Singapore and I finally found it! Crispy, gooey, and completely drool worthy in every bite. This sandwich had two big breaded portobello 🍄 patties that were smothered in hot southern hot sauce aka Tobasco sauce which I LOVE and covered in coleslaw and served on a vegan bun. This was legit and I’ve been thinking about it since I went there.

I’m about the drop another review of their vegan “cakeshake” which was like nothing I’ve ever seen before!

Thank you Black Tap! 🙇🏽

I am so impressed with this dish. The breaded portobello is so smokey, tender and

juicy. Spiciness level is perfect. #veganuary

The burger was really delicious. The hot sauce combined with deep fried portobello was really

nice. Bun is great and I opted for the top up to have sweet potato fries. Would have again. Great western comfort food in Singapore.

.
Main : Huge portion with 2 well seasoned, mildly spiced mushroom patties wedged between

toasted vegan buns beneath a lil mould of coleslaw 😋

Request for allium-free version by specification. Apparently spring onions are off their radar.

Sides :
Comes with a hill of chunky fries.
Choice of veg leaves much to be desired. Half a slab of pickle is tolerable. A different story altogether when other main courses came with the exact same thing for sides (I had 4 to cut the story short 😑)

For a joint famous for milkshakes, its time to shake things up a lil.

Having read all the amazing reviews about this burger, I was beyond excited to try

it!

Spoiler — it was NOT worth the hype. First off, it was not spicy. Secondly, the portobello party was soggy and falling apart. Thirdly, the only semblance of flavor or in this case “spice” was Tabasco sauce which I usually love but i don’t know man, all this gave me was lowkey acid reflux which I wouldn’t have minded if this burger was A+. I did finish the full burger, but only because I starved myself for the meal.

The fries were eh, very overfilling and nothing really special.

TLDR; not worth the hype

They don’t really have that many 🌱 food options (not including the shakes). So by

process of elimination, I chose this. They refer to it as a sandwich but it’s more of a burger.

The patty tasted really crunchy with portobello 🍄 . I also liked the coleslaw they put on top but wish they put a bit more of it. I would’ve also liked more vegetables on top of the actual patty. The fries were quite crunchy but the 🥬 and 🍅 on the side was quite out of place. Nevertheless, the patty makes up for these suggestions for improvement.

Personally, I LOVE this burger! I read reviews saying it wasn’t spicy but this is

the perfect amount of spice for me. It’s amazing how they make a mushroom so tasty, juicy and completely filling. I’ve had this twice now and I definitely will be getting it again. The fries are also some of the best fries I’ve ever had in Singapore. Try this burger! Another added bonus is that the staff are really lovely, had a long wait but all the staff members were so friendly. Can’t wait to go back ☺️

Really big portion and filling. Nice place! Do check out this place as it

is really vegan friendly.
