My sweet friends took me to Basic Kitchen for my birthday a little while back!

I’ve always ordered the Basic Bowl in my previous visits (I’ve reviewed in the past) but thought I would try something new this time. Unfortunately, this dish was not as good as the Basic Bowl. This entree contains buckwheat soba noodles, crunchy veggies, ginger dressing, peanuts, herbs, and lime. I love strong, tangy, and fresh flavors but this dish was a bit too much for me and very “one note” in flavor. One of my friends ordered the same dish and didn’t enjoy it at all, agreeing that it was too strong. The dressing and lime were overwhelmingly acidic. I feel like this dish would’ve been better complimented with a fattier creamy component like a peanut sauce or avocado. The meal would also be more balanced if they included a protein source like edamame or tofu. The veggies, noodles, and intention were nice but it just wasn’t the best execution. I would definitely recommend the Basic Bowl over this dish, but I still enjoyed my time here!
