Back to Eden is a plant based all day brunch cafe and bakery by Strangers’

Reunion. They are currently in their soft launch phase.

They recommended the Big Breakfast ($17.90) which consists of a rosti, BBQ pulled mushrooms, spinach, tomato with pesto along with a smoked cashew sour cream. Decided to top up $2 for their tofu scramble.

The rosti was really delicious! Love the pesto as well as the BBQ pulled mushrooms. Not a fan of this tofu scramble though. Best to skip it. Good size portion and it was definitively filling! Can’t wait to return to try out the other things on the menu!

My pal commented that it's too filling despite being vegan as it's potato 🥔 good

stuff

Loved the crunchy fried grated potato rosti, nicely herbed and garnished with a dollop of

smoked cashew sour cream. Definitely a level up from the more standard carbs (hashbrown and/or bread) found in vegan big breakfasts! The platter also came with buttered spinach, tomato with basil pesto, and hoisin BBQ pulled king oyster mushrooms. Personally wasn't such a fan of the mushroom marination (I've never quite liked hoisin and BBQ sauces, would prefer something else like black pepper) but my partner enjoyed the mushrooms. Added-on a tofu scramble too (+$2) which was quite mashed / runny in texture; think I would have preferred to have some firmer chunks of tofu in the mix! Overall would still recommend this dish because the rosti was amazing haha. I visited during the soft launch and the staff actively approached customers for feedback, so the sides will probably be further improved! Not bad for a vegan big breakfast. My favourite was probably the tomato with pesto.

Rosti was nice with the smoked cashew sour cream. BBQ pulled mushrooms was rather mild in taste and sweet. Will be even better if they used jackfruit, and maybe cook it in other spicy flavours :P I make a better tofu scramble anytime, theirs was a rather odd runny/watery one and also a little too salty.

Rosti is crispy and tasty, but I felt combination with the enoki mushroom and vegetables

is rather weird and don’t match very well. Tofu and hummus is not bad. Nice colours and presentation.

I wanted to love this dish, which is supposed to be one of their best

sellers. Didn’t work for me, but it is personal. The rosti was too oily, the “tofu” had a very eggy taste which I personally never enjoy (non vegans might like it though).

Love the spinach the tomato and the tofu scramble~~~ belly happy~ 🌸🤍🌱

But why my mushroom

portion so little? 😭 think they didn’t like me lah~ only mine has so so little shrooms~
