I'm actually not a fan of tonkotsu ramen so I enjoyed this plant based alternative! The broth was rich and tasty, the only thing I would nitpick on is the mock charsiew? It reminds me of packaged vegan bak kwa 🤣 and the texture could have been better if the slices were thiccker 🍉 the noodles were good too!
Good but docking 1 star cos it’s wayyYy too expensive HAHA about $20 aft GST. That’s said it was great for my first authentic ramen experience, noodles were decently chewy (get hard), soup was thick and creamy and the oil was v fragrant. The meat is nth to shout about. Don’t think I’d eat again bc of price point but worth a try
Vegans know how difficult it is to find good ramen substitutes in Singapore - especially those with a rich, creamy, umami type broth. I’d say this dish comes pretty close! My only gripe with this dish is that there could have been more ingredients in it - some corn, bamboo shoots or even greens. Nevertheless, still the best option in SG for when you’re craving a good bowl of tonkotsu-style ramen!
10/10 for the soup and noodles! Vegan but uncompromising in taste, the soup was very creamy and tastes just like how I remember Tonkotsu to be. Noodles were springy and chewy. The vegan pork slices, though, was very underwhelming. The ramen doesn’t need the vegan pork - perhaps it could be replaced with other stuff like seaweed or other veggies #ramen A pity that this item is only seasonal!
Love the savory broth (fragrant garlic oil enhances the flavor), and the plantbased soy "chashu" is nice and tender. #abillionturns3
