Simply the best vegan high tea in CT! Savoury to start, followed but scones and then sweet treats plus a variety of teas and bubbly. Forgot to photograph the rest but this gives an idea at least .. go try it you won’t regret it!
What an absolute treat! Such a spoil with this wonderful vegan spread in such a beautiful setting
The savoury items were wonderful - very tasty and great variety, however the sweet options were quite underwhelming.
I was treated to a vegan high tea and I have to say it was amazing. So much flavour packed into each item. Some of the highlights include a mushroom pastry (would've been happy with a plate of these!), broccoli and cauli fritter, chickpea cakes with hummus, quinoa taco, falafel with guacamole in a lettuce cup, artichoke and tomato skewers, roasted veg tartlet, pineapple cake, cheesecake & lemon slice. There were also deliciously light scones with jam, vegan butter & vegan cheese. Some cream would've been nice but that's really nitpicking. They were happy to bring seconds although the food on the tea tray was more than enough for me. High tea is very pricey so in terms of value for money the vegan one definitely was good when comparing with the regular offerings.
I was lucky enough to go for Vegan Afternoon Tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel. Beautiful setting, amazing presentation and service but... I was a little disappointed by the taste of the food. The sandwiches were dry and generally the items weren’t particularly flavourful/interesting. I far prefer the vegan high tea offering at 12 Apostles, which is out of this world (and possibly a little cheaper). I wouldn’t rule out Mount Nelson, as it was still enjoyable (and I ate almost everything before realizing I hadn’t taken a picture 😂). #greyton #supportgreytonfarmanimalsanctuary
