Brett Christoffel, Founder & CEO of All Y'alls Foods
Twenty years ago, Brett was living on fast food, his physical and mental health left unchecked. Born and raised in the meat-heavy culture of Texas, he couldn't imagine a mealtime without meat at the center of his plate.
Today, he's the plant-based CEO of All Y'alls Foods—a Texas-based company creating plant-based jerky and snacks that have donated to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary since the start and sold over half a million bags of product across 450 stores nationwide.
Now, that’s a way to show all y’alls how it’s done. This is the All Y’alls Foods Story.
What is All Y’alls Foods?
All Y'alls Foods is a Texas-born plant-based snack food company specializing in soy jerky made more sustainably and free from cruelty. If you haven't spotted them already, these tantalizing Texan treats sit on shelves from Los Angeles to New York City, and are now available across ten counties across Europe!
Who Founded All Y’alls Foods?
All Y'alls Foods was founded by Brett Christoffel, a former corporate sales manager turned plant-based entrepreneur. The soy-based jerky brand proved its appeal in 2019 when it entered HEB's Quest for Texas Best contest, taking 1st place in the plant-based protein category and 6th overall—beating 824 companies, many of which were meat or dairy brands.
That wasn't an accident. It was a true Texas boy making meat alternatives that Texans actually wanted to eat.
It’s funny. Brett never set out to become a plant-based food entrepreneur. Growing up with a "gotta have protein" mentality, he reminisces about a time when he openly laughed at the concept of Meatless Mondays. The idea that he'd one day build a booming plant-based snack company? Forget about it.
However, this story began with two tablespoons of flaxseed.
The Flaxseed That Started It All
After years of unchecked physical and mental health struggles, Brett found himself in conversations about plant food solutions. Someone suggested adding two tablespoons of flaxseed to his meals daily. After four months, he saw his health improve dramatically.
The friendly health advice proved itself. So, Brett dug deeper into the healing power of everyday foods. He met health practitioners, learned about functional foods, and discovered protocols for reversing disease through diet.
It clicked: we're putting this fuel into our bodies three times a day, every day. It makes sense to investigate what that fuel actually does.

In 2012, Brett opened Farmacy Fountain, a raw organic juice bar. While he hadn’t adopted a proper plant-based diet yet, he was doing deep nutritional research and curiously experimenting with his dehydrator. Ultimately, all the science pointed in the same direction: a fully plant-based diet was the healthiest path forward.
Whether he knew it or not, every step until then was just a setup leading him to the breakthrough that would change his life forever.
Loving All Critters Just The Same
One day at the zoo with his wife, Brett noticed something he hadn’t before. The elephants he was watching were all massive, muscular mammals built entirely on plants. Even their teeth and jaws were remarkably similar to humans.
Then it hit him: these animals were all present and aware. They didn’t want to die.
Suddenly, the elephant wasn't different from Paisley, his beloved dog (whom he would defend to the death). The arbitrary line between "pet" and "food animal" collapsed. The hypocrisy and absurdity of the system became impossible for him to ignore.

If You Want Something Done, Quit Complaining and Build It
Along his journey, Brett noticed something about his home state: Texas was the biggest producer of solar energy, wind energy, and beef in the United States. The contradictions were glaring.
He decided: "I'm gonna change it instead of just b*tching". So, he did.
With no professional food industry background, he would learn everything self-taught. Even so, Brett's vision was clear from the start: create a plant-based jerky brand specifically for Texas. He knew he wanted seven flavors, each one reflecting one of the seven regions of Texas, and that he wanted to give back to a sanctuary with the most bovines.
Enter Rowdy Girl Sanctuary—the first cattle ranch operation turned animal sanctuary in the United States. To date, All Y'alls Foods has donated $50,000 to Rowdy Girl, courtesy of those 550,000+ bags sold.
What Products Do All Y'alls Foods Sell?
Brett didn't set out to make snacks—he wanted to replace meat. Starting with jerky just made sense for a Texan, but the real innovation came when he realized these plant-based proteins could do more than satisfy snack cravings. They could elevate everyday meals.
Today, All Y’alls Foods sports four flavors of jerky, two varieties of crunchy toppers:
It’s Jerky Y’all Plant-based Jerky Flavors:
It’s Big Crunchy Bits Y’all Topper Flavors:
Made with whole soybeans instead of isolates for what Brett calls "a cleaner product", all items are shelf-stable, gluten-free, and non-GMO, too!
Why Plant-Based Jerky?
The Texas Problem
In a state with 2,000 BBQ restaurants and where 95% of dining options aren't plant-based, creating shelf-stable, portable, protein-rich plant-based snacks was essential. Brett wanted something that could sit next to conventional jerky and win on taste, not just ethics.
Turning Snack Time into Something Meaningful
Snacking happens anywhere, anytime. Compared to allocated mealtimes, snacking is far less confined and arguably the most accessible form of eating. It can be as brief as grabbing a power bar or, indeed, a strip of jerky to get you through a busy day.
Practical, Versatile, and Full of Flavor
Many plant-based products use soy isolates. Brett was determined to use whole soybeans in his soy jerky, creating a cleaner nutritional profile and better texture. Instead of masking ingredients with heavy sugar and salt (the industry standard), All Y'alls leans into natural flavors like their ginger and prickly pear jerky. It's still jerky, alright, but not as you know it.
The Bigger Vision: Peace Through Plants
Brett talks openly about the peace, kindness, and compassion that came with adopting a plant-based diet—emotions he contrasts with "the system's convention of taking pain, brutality, and misery to fuel our nourishment."

"I just want to help open people's eyes," Brett says.
"People have the right to know the truth. This is about delighting and nourishing humans, saving animals, and as we use less than 10% of the water & land to produce our proteins compared to beef, it includes being a better steward of the planet too."
