I was excited to try Oatly’s matcha drink, but to my surprise, the flavour reminded me more of pistachio than matcha. It’s creamy and slightly nutty, with a subtle sweetness that makes it easy to drink, but if you’re expecting the earthy, grassy punch of real matcha, this leans much softer and more dessert-like.
🌿 Good for those who prefer mellow flavours, but matcha purists might find it lacking in that deep umami bitterness. That said, the oat milk texture is spot on—smooth and velvety, as you’d expect from Oatly.
Would I get it again? Maybe as a light, nutty treat—but not when I’m craving a proper matcha fix.
