I picked up this box of VG Gourmet Sweet Potato & Black Bean Plant-based Burgers at Healthy Planet this past summer. They were on sale for $7.99. I thought the price was a bit steep, but better than its regular price of $8.99 which I would not have paid. Besides, I’ve never tried this product before and it would give me another opportunity for a review.

The combination of sweet potato and black beans really intrigued me. It’s not a common pairing (at least, I don’t think so), but it definitely tasted good. The burgers are thick and they fry up very easily without any greasy residue. The ingredient list is very impressive as all the ingredients are natural and pronounceable. Lots of vegetables are in each burger. Food made from food.

Nutritionally, the burgers are loaded with fibre, protein, iron, vitamins A and C.

I would definitely get these again, but I would not pay the regular price. Each box contains four burgers.
