Review of Plant-Based Bak Kwa - &SO by windgal
Wow, I've tried a few vegetarian bak kwa over the years but this one really blew me away by how closely it looked and even tasted like the original. The sweet seasoning especially was exactly as I remembered from the real bak kwas I had during my childhood. It was also oily, with charred sides that made it so "realistic". As for the texture, my hubby (who had also not had bak kwa for a long long time himself) thought it was softer than the original. Overall, I would agree with the brand statement of "Like real, but better!"
