This is only the second time I've had shrimp of any kind! The first time was the firecracker shrimp from the Bloom Sushi Counter at X Market in Chicago. I absolutely loved that dish so when I saw this po'boy I thought I'd give it a try again. It seemed like it would be lighter than the other offerings here, and after a day of travel something light sounded best.

These shrimp were much meatier and firmer than I was expecting. It kind of freaked me out because it really did look like shrimp and the texture is what I'd imagine the animal shrimp would be like! There wasn't really much of a seafood/fishy taste at all though. The breading on the shrimp was good and I enjoyed the bun and remoulade. The tomatoes weren't as fresh as I'd like, but overall it was a good po'boy. However, I still have yet to find a po'boy that I enjoy more than the ones that @jonok and I make from oyster mushrooms!
