Get ready for a lot of empanada reviews! I've seen Fons on here and just loved the colors and the fact that they're a 100% vegan shop! I was happy to see a location just a couple blocks from the hotel. They open at 8:00, so it's a great breakfast option! This location is also super close to Millennium Park, so you have a nice venue to eat your empanadas in. We took ours just a bit further to Lakeshore East Dog Park hopeful to watch some dogs while we ate. Unfortunately that dog park is not very viewer friendly. We still had a nice time by the fountains.
As a #mushroomlover I had to try the smoky mushrooms flavor! It has smoky mezcal-garlic mushrooms in a spinach dough. It had a nice flavor and I definitely tasted the mushrooms. The smoke was subtle but nice. Get the garlic sauce!
