Seeing that RightRice is one of the brands supporting #veganisnotscary reminded me of the unopened bag in my pantry. This stuff is fabulous if you’re a #lazyvegan: once your pot of water has boiled, all you have to do is dump out the bag, slap on the lid, and wait 12-15 minutes — and hey presto, it’s done! Actually, I found it needs a little more time than recommended on the packaging to soak up the excess liquid, but it’s still super passive and totally hands-off. #veganiseasy

I really enjoyed the texture of this #glutenfree #rice substitute. As it’s made of several types of flour, the texture is more akin to pasta than rice (think orzo, al dente.) Thanks to the power of #legumes, these grains pack a good amount of protein, too — 10g per serving, roughly equivalent to one scoop of protein powder. It reheats well, too (pictured: in my lunch.)

The flavor profile didn’t scream Thai curry to me, but it was enjoyably spicy and aromatic. Overall, I liked RightRice and would absolutely pick up some other flavors if they landed at my local Grocery Outlet! I believe this bag was $1.99 back in January… ancient #groceryoutletfinds (Also, in case anyone was wondering, it was still fine 8 months past its expiry date!)
