Today the Mensa of my university had no good vegan options. The offer you a milk rice (which is not a healthy full meal) with a vegan option (they charge 30 ct extra for vegan) another sweet and a dish which is pretty much just fries and meat sauce. This is a common problem in our Mensa, which is lead buy a guy who refuses to get rid of the meat dishes even though they are bought way less (maybe 1/4 to 1/5) even thought it would speed up lines, be more ethical and reduce carbon footprint. Hopefully there will be a real vegan dish on Monday.

It's really bad that students even have to pay extra for vegan food in the refectory. My mother works as a kitchen manager in the WHZ canteen in Zwickau and it's not like that there. Since the boss is vegan himself, he demands at least one vegan meal a day. We had dinner there just before Christmas and the vegan tofu goulash was simply delicious. It's a pity that this is handled so differently everywhere...
